Essential Drugs and Medicines
Essential drugs, or essential medicines, are medications that fulfill the priority health care needs of a population, selected for their efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness, and must be available at all times in sufficient quantities and at affordable prices. These medicines are a core component of any well-functioning health system, forming the basis of a country’s national essential medicines list (EML).
অত্যাবশ্যকীয় ওষুধ, বা অত্যাবশ্যকীয় ওষুধ, হল এমন ওষুধ যা জনসংখ্যার অগ্রাধিকারমূলক স্বাস্থ্যসেবার চাহিদা পূরণ করে, তাদের কার্যকারিতা, নিরাপত্তা এবং ব্যয়-কার্যকারিতার জন্য নির্বাচিত হয় এবং সর্বদা পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে এবং সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যে পাওয়া যায়। এই ওষুধগুলি যেকোনো সু-কার্যকর স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থার একটি মূল উপাদান, যা একটি দেশের জাতীয় প্রয়োজনীয় ওষুধ তালিকার (EML) ভিত্তি তৈরি করে।
